Flight Forced To Return To Lansing Airport

It will take a little longer for 19 Chicago-bound passengers to make it to the Windy City.

That's after a potential mechanical problem forced it to return to Lansing just after take-off.

The United flight took off just after 9:45 a.m. on Monday, but concerns about a problem with the landing gear forced it to make a quick return, according to an airport spokesperson.

The plane landed safely at the Capital Region International Airport around 15 minutes later.

Emergency crews had responded to the scene as a precaution.
