Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with Young Boys

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - Jackson police have a man behind bars, charged with 11 counts of various degrees of criminal sexual conduct dating back to 2001, all so far with at least three young boys aged 9-13.

Geoffery Friant, 54, is already listed on Michigan's sex offender registry for offenses as far back as 1979 and 2003.

Police say a possible reason it's taken so long for some of this to come to light is that they believe Friant is adept at grooming his victims, so they don't come forward.

He is scheduled to appear in Jackson coutny court next Friday.

Blackman Leoni Township Police are now looking to find out if there are any more victims. If you have any information, you're asked to call 517-990-9700.

One well-trained adult can prevent the abuse of ten children according to The Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect in Jackson. The organization provides training to help adults prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
