Man Jailed After Chase, Crashing Into Police Cruiser

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A 66-year-old man is behind bars after authorities say he led them on a chase through two counties, then hit a police cruiser head on.

It happened just before 6p.m. on Sunday. State police tried to pull the driver over on M-106 in Ingham County, but he took off.

Authorities say the man drove down the wrong side of the road, forcing several cars off the road before smashing his pick-up truck into a police cruiser in Jackson County. The trooper was not seriously injured.

Officials tell 6 News the Utica area man has intentionally hit police cars at least twice before in 2004 and 2012.
