Gas Prices Take Steep Jump Up

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -Gas prices are back on the rise in Mid-Michigan.

Lansing is currently averaging $3.84, but some Speedways are already reporting prices as high as $3.95. Prices this morning hovered around $3.75.

Experts say the spike is from wholesale gas prices rising $0.07-0.11, which will translate to prices at the pump in at most of three days. They say there's not any certainly we'll hit $4, but it will likely get close.

They predict the peak will hit around late April, with Detroit getting as high as around $4.25.

Michigan has a current average of $3.80 and the national average is $3.62.
