Mobile content and OTT application acceleration solution improves mobile network economics and Internet user experience

Saguna Networks, an innovative provider of Radio Access Network (RAN) application acceleration and mobile content delivery on HSPA and LTE networks, today announced that its Saguna CODS™ solution is lowering content delivery costs and improving the mobile Internet user experience for a tier one mobile operator in Europe.

Saguna CODS is a patented application acceleration and content caching solution for mobile Radio Access Networks. Saguna CODS optimizes content delivery in mobile backhaul infrastructures by uniquely transporting popular content directly from the mobile network base station straight to subscribers. Since popular content and Internet applications are already on the Radio Access Network, Saguna CODS enhances user experience and saves time, bandwidth and money by enabling mobile operators to disperse traffic efficiently. By using Saguna CODS, this tier one mobile operator Europe is sharply reducing content delivery costs and is significantly improving the mobile Internet experience it provides its subscribers.

Saguna Networks also recently announced partnerships with Ubiquisys, the developer of intelligent small cells, to provide a joint content and acceleration solution for small cells, and FibroLAN, an innovative vendor of mobile backhauling solutions with a focus on small cells (indoor and outdoor) and 4G networks, to offer an integrated OTT mobile backhaul content and application acceleration offering for mobile network operators.

"Our new customers and partnerships clearly demonstrate the growing demand for our innovative content and OTT application acceleration solution," said Lior Fite, CEO at Saguna Networks. "Our unique solution is designed to address the issues created by delivering OTT traffic over mobile networks in a holistic and transparent approach. Our solution is designed for virtualization and brings valuable additional layers to the telco Cloud."

ADVA Optical Networking, a global provider of intelligent telecommunications infrastructure solutions, recently announced a strategic investment in Saguna Networks.

Saguna Networks will be demonstrating its Saguna CODS mobile caching solution at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 25-28, 2013. Saguna Networks will be located at Booth 5i94.

Ubiquisys, FibroLAN and ADVA Optical Networking as well as additional tier one Mobile Radio Access vendor will also be demonstrating their joint solutions with Saguna CODS at Mobile World Congress.
