Man Killed After Police Chase Identified


GREEN OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) - Police have released the name of the man involved a police chase and fatal shooting.

Kevin William Hassell, 31, lead police on a three mile chase, starting in Livingston County's Green Oak Township and ending at his home on Twilight Drive. Police originally got a call about a break-in on Bishop Road.

Police say Hassell took shots at a veteran Green Oak Township police officer and a veteran state police trooper. They returned fire, killing the man.

The two officers suffered minor injuries.

The case remains under investigation.
