CDC Releases App To Help Prepare for Outbreaks

ATLANTA (WLNS) - The Center for Disease Control released a new free iPad app to get people thinking about diseases.

It's called Solve the Outbreak and makes you a disease detective. There are several scenerios that take you around the world from a birthday party gone bad in the U.S. to an outbreak in Kenya, where more than 100 people have died.

Your job is to use clues to answer a series of questions on how you would handle the outbreak. As you complete the missions, you earn badges and learn valuable lessons about how diseases spread.

So far, the CDC says a few thousand people have downloaded the app. They'd like to get that number up to 25,000 a year.
