Family Safe After Fire Destroys Home

GRASS LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) - A fire that consumed a families home late Thursday night ended in a total loss, but luckily no one was injured.

The fire on the 3700 block of Burtch Road in Grass Lake Township sparked around 11:45 P.M. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A man and his 3-year-old son were at the home when the fire started, but both made it out safely, including the families two dogs.

The Grass Lake Fire Chief says that it took crews more than an hour to get the flames under control.
