Losing his job inspires a faith-filled pathologist to gather scripture related to God’s promises of provision and share it in this new book released by Dog Ear Publishing.
Seale, Alabama (PRWEB) February 27, 2013
Those grappling with financial difficulties – or blessings – have a new resource to turn to, thanks to Richard Knapp, an ordained minister and a physician. In this new book, Knapp shares stories and scripture designed to give people a boost in their faith for finances. Drawing on Isaiah 12:3, Knapp compares God’s provisions for prosperity to a functional well dug deep, providing for both the diggers and those around them. Building faith for finances, Knapp writes, will lead readers to be heroes in their stewardship of God’s blessings.
In “From Zero to Hero in Your Finances,” Knapp shares stories of how God rescued people from seemingly impossible situations, including when he lost his job as a pathologist and savings evaporated as his unemployment continued. He offers a framework of financial Biblical principles illustrated by both his own life experiences and scripture. Further bolstering the book is testimony from those Knapp calls “heroes of faith,” like the pastor who unexpectedly receives the blessing of a new vehicle and a means to pay for it, missionaries scraping by who avoid a prison sentence for bouncing a check in Nicaragua thanks to a God-inspired benefactor, and a small church that receives free pews exactly the right size.
The book, divided into 25 devotions that include prayers and scripture excerpts that allow it to be read one devotion at a time for a month, reminds readers of forgotten truths and urges them to prayer for guidance in their financial matters. An appendix with healing scriptures adds another layer of assistance for those searching for ways to live faithful lives within their means and those who need answers.
Author Richard Knapp grew up in Tanzania in East Africa as the son of missionary parents. Knapp, who often saw faith in action in his formative years, attended the University of South Florida and Oral Roberts University for medical school debt-free. Knapp worked as laboratory director, staff pathologist and licensed pathologist in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama. He has shared the gospel internationally, started a church in northeastern Tennessee and serves in East Alabama, where he lives with his family. His son, David, drew the book’s illustrations.
