LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Governor Rick Snyder announcemed Wednesday afternoon that Macomb County Judge David Viviano will now join the Michigan Supreme Court.
The newest justice is a graduate of Hillsdale College and earned his law degree from the University of Michigan.
The vacancy comes after former Supreme Court Justice Diane Hathaway was charged with bank fraud. The government says Hathaway and her husband deeded a Florida home to a relative while trying to negotiate a short sale on a house they couldn't afford in suburban Detroit.
