New Recipes to Make for Lent

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - It's the second week of Lent, a time many Christians give up certain types of luxuries, and many Catholics don't eat meat on Fridays.

When it come to fish, it helps if you think about it in terms of wine. There are so many different flavors, and there's many different flavors of fish too and so many different wants to cook it too.

Chef Ryan Wierenga said the "smell, the texture, the color, the brightness," are all things to look for when picking out a fish. "If it smells fishy it's not good. You want that ocean smell."

Remember there are other seafood options, too--lobster, shrimp, crab, etc.
