Man Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in Gun Club Shooting

HOWELL, Mich. (AP) - A man charged in a fatal shooting of his friend at a southeast Michigan gun club has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in the case.
The Livingston County Daily Press & Argus of Howell reports Jessce Stearn acknowledged pointing a replica AK-47 at Charles Kimball of Howell Township when it accidentally fired. Stearn also pleaded guilty to a felony firearm charge.
Stearn's sentencing is scheduled for April 4 in Livingston County Circuit Court.
Kimball was fatally shot June 30 at the Livingston Conservation & Sports Association in Brighton Township, about 35 miles northwest of Detroit.
According to police, Stearn initially told them the weapon discharged while he was cleaning it.
