Woman Accused of Horse Abuse Gets Animals Back

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. (WLNS) - A woman accused of neglecting her horses received custody of them back Sunday.

Back in November, authorities seized about a dozen horses from the home of Velva Wainscott, 70. She maintains her innocence.

She is currently charged with animal cruelty, after officials say they received several complaints of abuse over the past ten years.

A hearing on the charges is set for May 13.

The Livingston County Animal Control was not available for comment on the case.
