Jackson County 'Recovery Court' Graduates Record Number

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - 15 people graduated from Jackson County's "Recovery Court" program on Friday.

The court offers people with felony alcohol or drug convictions a second chance by helping them turn their lives around to become productive members of society. It was founded in 2004.

Participants go through phases of intensive supervision: drug testing, curfews and substance abuse treatment.

Graduates, all coming from different backgrounds and situations, now have one thing in common, they are leaving recovery court drug and alcohol free. They have the option of entering the alumni association as mentors, helping both themselves and new program members who look up to them for strength and guidance.
