Special Prosecutor Requested for Infant Who Shot Himself

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - In Jackson County, the prosecutor asked the attorney general's office to take over the case involving a toddler who shot himself.

In a statement, Jerry Jarzynka said his office had too much professional dealings with the boy's father who is a Jackson County deputy to lead the case. There's been no word yet from the attorney general's office.

3-year-old Michael Easter accidentally shot and killed himself on March 3.

So far child protective services out of Hillsdale County is also handling part of the investigation.
