LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - With the B1G Ten tournament and St. Patrick's Day this weekend, local bars are gearing up for one of their busiest weekends of the year with extra beer on tap and extra staff on hand.
Greg Rambat, the manager of Irish Pub on Saginaw in Lansing, said because St. Pat's is on a Sunday, he's not sure which days are going to be the busiest, so he's got extra staff on hand, which includes security, starting Friday and continuing through the whole weekend.
Anytime they get this volume of people for one event, Rambat said keeping everyone safe is a big challenge and its always their number one priority. He said his staff will do everything they can to make sure the weekend runs as smooth as possible .
Local law enforcement agencies across the state will be out in full force, monitoring the roads. Police in more than two dozen counties are cracking down on people not wearing their seat belts and drunk drivers.
They want to remind drivers to take safety precautions all weekend.
