LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Lansing's Financial Health Team gave their final report and recommendations to Mayor Virg Bernero Monday on how to help the city.

The team, led by former Mayor David Hollister, gave the report at Lansing City Hall.

  • Reducing funding for the police department $1 million
  • Address the under-funded pension liability

Mayor virg bernero received the 60-page report Monday. He says he'll review it before he submits his own budget proposal for the next fiscal year, but said he's not interested in just balancing the budget. He said Lansing's neighboring communities, corporations and the universities here must work together if the city is to continue growing in the right direction.

The committee gave their 60 plus recommendations to help prevent a financial crisis last week on Thursday.
