No Charges Against Sheriff

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - The state attorney general's office says no charges are planned after a southwestern Michigan sheriff's deputy said a sergeant videotaped her while she was in a private office pumping breast milk for her newborn.

The attorney general's office reviewed the case after a request in Kalamazoo County for a special prosecutor to determine whether criminal charges are merited. MLive.com reports the office discussed its decision in a letter this month.

The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved settlement that includes a payment of about $130,000 to the deputy and her spouse, plus $69,000 in attorney fees

The sergeant involved has since resigned from the Kalamazoo County sheriff's office. Officials have said the sergeant indicated that the taping was accidental.
