Student Charged With Felony After Making False Threat

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - The man accused of making a false threat to Jackson Community College has been charged with a felony.

According to our media partners at the Jackson Citizen Patriot, Richard Bayliss III, 21,  has been charged with making a terroist threat or false report of terrorism. Officials say the former student called the school and made a threat that authorities found to be false.

The school was put on lock down and students were told to stay inside.

If convicted, Bayliss faces up to 20 years in prison.

He'll return to court later this month.
