Spartan Students, Fans Hit The Bars To Watch NCAA Game

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Spartan fans packed the bars to watch the game against Valparaiso Thursday afternoon.

It's the start of March Madness and East Lansing Buffalo Wild Wings General Manager Aaron Weiner's favorite time of the year.

"March is our busiest month because of the tournament. This is a basketball town. People love watching the spartans and the further they go, the better it is for business," said Weiner.

More than 250 people packed the East Lansing restaurant, triple the normal business day. Weiner said he had a hard time seating everyone. "It's a great day to skip work or class and just hang out and watch basketball all day."

Support that seemed to work. The Spartans beat the Crusaders 65-54, making MSU fans very happy.

"We played really good, I thought. First 10 minutes went pretty slow, but after that we definitely picked up the pace. I think we're really going to have a good run," said MSU student Ray Kort.
