Man Charged in Sister's Boyfriend's Murder Denied Bond

OKEMOS, Mich. (WLNS) - The attorney for Connor McCowan, 19, said Thursday in court that self defense would now be an issue going forward. He was also denied bond requests that would've allowed him to be released on house arrest.

McCowan is charged with open murder in the death of MSU student Andrew Singler, 23. Singler was dating McCowan's older sister.

A preliminary hearing in that case is set for April 18.
