Suspicious Package Found, Ruled Not A Bomb

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Lansing Police Department have ruled that the package found at the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs was not a bomb.

The package was found around 7a.m. Tuesday.

Police cleared the area while working with fire crews, a bomb squad and other departments. Looking back through security footage, it was determined that a maintenance worker left behind a tool box.

Officials said that the proper precautions were taken and that everything went as smoothly as it could have.

Streets are now back open. No one was injured.
