Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges for Alleged Shooting


LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A Grand Rapids man accused of shooting another man in west Lansing now faces attempted murder charges.

Police say 22-year-old Jerry Blackwell shot a 23-year-old Lansing man near the Lansing Mall earlier this month.

The victim reportedly drove himself to to the Delta Township Meijer. He was taken to the hospital, but police say his condition is improving.

Blackwell is being held in the Eaton County Jail and is expected in court next month.
