Committee on Public Safety to Host Dog Ordinance Discussion

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The Lansing City Council's Committee of Public Safety is met Tuesday afternoon, discussing better ways to educate people on the city's current dog laws.

The Committee shot down a proposed Vicious Dog Ordinance two weeks ago, which was strongly supported by Mayor Virg Bernero.

Committee Chair Jody Washington said Ingham Counties current ordinance, coupled with the leash law is plenty of coverage.

Today's meeting focused on finding better ways for the Lansing Police Department, Ingham County Animal Control and other city groups to share information and educate the public on current laws.
