Detroit Tigers Win 2013 Home Opener

DETROIT, Mich. (WLNS) - The Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees on Friday afternoon for their home opener at Comerica Park.

The final score was 8 - 2. Prince Fielder had two home runs. Jackson, Hunter, Infante and Avila all also scored.

Fans started lining up early in the morning, some around 4:30 A.M.

The Tigers went into the game with a record of 1-2, after their first series against the Minnesota Twins. They now stand at 2-2.

Analysts say the Tigers have one of the most balanced line-ups in all of Baseball. Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder are in the 3/4 slot and a mix of power and consistency in the 5/7. Some even say that Cabrera and Fielder are the greatest one-two combo in 30 years.
