"Cinderella's Closet" turns dresses into dreams

HASLETT, Mich. (WLNS) -- Prom season is right around the corner, so today volunteers at "Cinderella's Closet" spent the morning helping girls sort through nearly 2,000 donated dresses, to find the perfect prom gown.

The seventh annual event, held at Haslett Village Square, gave girls who could not afford prom dresses, the opprotunity to pick one out for free from racks of new and gently worn donated dresses.

The event drew in people from across the state, who lined up outside of the building as early as 4:30 a.m.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., girls sorted through dresses of all colors, styles and sizes, leaving with a gown to make their prom dreams come true.

If you're interested in donating a dress to "Cinderella's Closet," stop by any Baryames Cleaners.
