MSU Commencement Speakers Announced

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Actor Timothy Busfield and author Richard Ford are scheduled to speak at Michigan State University's spring commencement.

The East Lansing university says Busfield will address undergraduates and Ford is to talk to advanced degree candidates on May 3 at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center. Both will receive honorary degrees.

Busfield is an East Lansing native best known for his work on the TV series "thirtysomething," and he has directed and produced several television shows.

Ford is a Michigan State alumnus and author of 10 works of fiction. He won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.

International researcher Brian Harvey of Ireland's Royal College of Surgeons also will receive an honorary doctorate of science at the undergraduate convocation.
