School Official To Likely Turn Down A $67,000 Raise

Posted:

BRIGHTON, Mich. (WLNS) - The Brighton area school's Board of Education is scrambling to offer its Superintendent Greg Gray a lot more money to stay, but he says he won't take it.

The board will hold a special meeting Thursday to discuss boosting Gray's annual pay by $67,000 to keep him on the job. He says if he does stay, he won't accept the raise when others in the district have had pay-cuts or been laid off.

Gray has applied for a position at Portland Public Schools.
