When responding to a disturbance call on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus, a campus police officer was shot multiple times and later died at a hospital.

The shooting happened shortly after 10:30 Thursday night outside one of the buildings on campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

A police chase led to the nearby town of Watertown, where one man was arrested.

Authorities are still reportedly searching for another suspect.

At this point police have not linked this shooting to the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
