City Commissioner Charged With Stealing Over $250,000

ST. JOHNS, Mich. (WLNS) - A St. Johns city commissioner is behind bars accused of stealing more than $250,000.

Police say David Hudgens embezzled the money over a six year period while working for the Osgood Funeral Home in St. Johns. The owner noticed red flags last week and called police. After an investigation, officers arrested Hudgens Monday.

The 52-year-old is facing up to 20 years in prison.

He's due back in court next week.
