DETROIT, Mich. (WLNS) - A 12-year Lansing murder mystery was the focus of a press conference in Detroit Wednesday.
Bernita White, 41, was shot and killed while walking with her daughter at Potter Park back in June of 2001. Police say the bullet came from a high-powered rifle.
No one was ever charged in the case. White's husband was questioned after her death, but was never more than a person-of-interest. The two were going through a divorce at the time of her death.
Lansing Police said they will be taking a fresh look at the case. Officials say they believe people from outside Lansing may have information, so they're trying to pool resources.
Anyone with information, no matter how insignificant, should call 1-800-SPEAK-UP. There is a $2,500 reward, plus another $1,000 if the tip comes in before midnight Wednesday.
