Thousands of Michigan State Spartans Graduate

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Thousands of Michigan State Spartans crossed the stage Friday for commencement.

Of the 7,000 students who walked, about 5,000 were undergraduates.

Emmy award-winning actor, Tim Busfield spoke and received an honorary Doctorate of Science. International researcher and professor at Ireland's Royal College of Surgeons, Brian Harvey, also was at the ceremony and received an honorary Doctorate of Science.

Best-selling author, Richard Ford addressed advanced degree graduates and received an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts.

Ceremonies were held at the Jack Breslin Student Events Center at MSU.
