Students Greeted With Corvette for 'Most Teens' Don't Campaign

DeWITT, Mich. (WLNS) - Prom season is here and DeWitt High School is using a unique method to keep seniors safe. Students arrived to a shiny Corvette Friday morning with the message "Most Teens Don't Drink and Drive."

According to a recent survey, 68 percent of area students have never tried marijuana and 75 percent haven't consumed alcohol in the last 30 days.

Jody McKean, the school's principal, says they're trying to emphasize a positive message. The approach is based on an effective the "social norming campaign" that Michigan State University launched to combat binge drinking.
