MSU Graduates 142 New Doctors

The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine said goodbye to 142 doctors today.

Family and friends gathered at the Breslin Center this afternoon to watch their graduates walk across the stage.

The dean for the College of Human Medicine, Marsha Rappley said she is confident these recent graduates will have a lot to contribute to the medical field.

"They are setting out now as their careers as physicians," said Rappley. "After today they will be MD's and they will begin the work of helping to improve the health of our nation and helping to fix our health care system."

This year marks the first graduation for the college's expansion class. By 2014 the college will graduate about 200 doctors a year.
