Man Arrested for Stealing Scrap Metal from Pole Barn

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) - One man is behind bars after Jackson Sheriff officials say he was caught breaking into a pole barn.

It happened at 4:30p.m. Sunday on Hatch Road in Liberty Township.

The 36-year-old Concord man was caught by the owner when he walked into the pole barn to do some work at the site. The suspect was found taking scrap metal from the structure. The owner detained him and called the sheriff, where he was arrested.

Deputies say the same pole barn was burglarized in previous weeks and it's possible the suspect was responsible.

He is being held at the Jackson County jail.
