Elementary Student Suspended After Bring Toy Gun on School Bus

LEONI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) - An East Jackson Community Schools third grader was suspended after he brought a toy gun onto a school bus on Monday.

Interim Superintendent Richard Ames told our media partners at MLive that no one was ever in danger and the student didn't make any threats to anyone.

MLive reports that the student was also suspended from riding the bus for the remainder of the year. Ames said he will likely be allowed to return to school soon.

Cameras showed the student had the toy in his backpack and he was showing other students. A fifth-grader took the toy gun and gave it to the bus driver, who in turn gave it to administrators.
