MSU Bricks For Sale

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Bricks from a 113-year-old Michigan State University building are being salvaged and some will be made available to the public for sale.

Chris Barnes, construction representative for the East Lansing school, says some bricks will go into storage for maintenance purposes and about 1,100 will be sold to the public for $35 each. He says people had requested the chance to buy the keepsakes.

The building's dark red sandstone facade also is being saved for other uses, including a walkway.

Built in 1899 and 1900, the building was named for Justin S. Morrill, a former U.S. senator who pushed to establish land grant universities.
