Local Church Shows Appreciation for Law Enforcement

Posted:

National Law Enforcement week wraps up with a thank you to the men and women in blue.

Antioch Church hosted an appreciation day for those who protect the poeple of the Mid-Michigan community.

Recognition awards were presented to a number of sheriffs in the community.

Around 100 people came out to show their support for those who put their lives in the line every day.

"Its really special when our faith based community comes together and really supports law enforcement in general," said Mike Yankowski, chief of police at the Lansing Police Department. "That in times of crisis and in times of good times we need their support at all levels."

Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth and other sheriffs were also in attendence.
