House Committee Talks Reform to State Prison System


LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A House appropriations sub-committee plans to hold a hearing on reforming the state's prison system on Tuesday.

Lawmakers are looking for ideas and suggestions regarding oversight, accountability and ways to cut costs.

Local advocates call for improvements to mental and medical treatment for inmates and want to see more efforts on rehabilitating them.
