LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A woman who police say lost control of her pickup truck Wednesday and slammed into a home on Jolly Road near Cedar in south Lansing has several people to thank, including three passersby who came to the rescue.

"I looked and she jumped the curb, and as soon as she jumped the curb [the truck] went right into the house," says Tyler Hartley.

A 22-year-old woman was pinned inside the pickup truck, and Hartley says he and two of his friends worked together to break out the windows so emergency crews could get to the woman easier once they arrived to the scene.

"I knew this was a serious situation. I tried punching out the back window, and I even tried using a spare tire in the back to take it out," says Jory Green. "That didn't work. Someone handed me a tire iron so I broke out the window."

Officials say the woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
