Victim Testifies Against Doctor Charged With Sexual Misconduct

Posted: Updated:

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WLNS) - Kassem Hallak, 54, faces 11 counts of criminal sexual conduct, charged with assaulting his patients at the Charlotte Medical Center and Urgent Care on Meijer Drive.

Hallak is facing second, third and fourth degree charges for sexual misconduct toward 10 former patients. Police say two of the victims were under the age of 14 at the time.

On Tuesday, one alleged victim, now 36-years-old, gave an emotional testimony against Hallak, especially recalling the moment she found out one of her former high school friends was also an alleged victim. "I wouldn't want it to happen to anybody else, but it almost made you feel better that it wasn't just you--like you weren't alone," she said on the stand.

The defense told a different story, saying the victim's testimony was contradictory.

Other witnesses also took the stand, but no other victims have spoken yet.

The second degree charge alone carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
