Youngest Victim of Dr. Charged With Sexual Misconduct Takes Stand

CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WLNS) - The youngest of the alleged victims in the case against Dr. Kassem Hallak, 54, took the stand Tuesday morning.

The girl who took the stand was 12-years-old at the time of the alleged offense. She was the fifth of the victims to take the stand with still five  Her mother also testified.

The defense focused on highlighting inconsistencies between their testimonies.

Hallak faces 11 dfferent counts of criminal sexual conduct from 2002 to 2010. One of the criminal sexual conduct charges is a second degree charge, which involves a minor under the age of 13 at the time of the offense. The second degree charge alone carries a potential sentence of 15 years behind bars.

He maintains he is innocent.

Hallak had a family practice clinic in Charlotte.
