Cats Ready for Adoption After Taken from Hoarder's Home

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - After 71 cats were rescued from a home out of Jackson County last week, the Cascades Humane Society says they're ready for adoption.

The cats received medical care, were vaccinated and several were spayed or neutered and micro-chipped.

Officials say because they lived in colony, they are very social creatures and would be welcoming in homes that have cats already.

Crews removed the cats from the home in HAZMAT suits.

If you're interested in adopting, stop by the Cascades Humane Society on Carmen Drive in Jackson. They're open Tuesday - Saturday from noon to 6p.m.
