Ingham County Food Bank To Dissolve Call Center

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – The Ingham County Food Bank says it will dissolve its call center at the end of this fiscal year, due to budget constraints. Officials say this will not affect needy families' access to food from area pantries.

While the Ingham County Food Bank doesn't actually give away food, it does take calls from residents and connects them with food pantries and other services that can help with emergency assistance.

The ICFB is currently housed within the Ingham County Health Department, and officials say they are looking for other community agencies to take over the call center.

The change is expected to take effect on October 1. Officials say they hope to know which agency will take over the call center within a month.
