JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - Race weekend at MIS kicks off on Friday and lasts through Sunday.
NASCAR's Premier Quicken Loans 400 race is headed to Jackson and is expected to draw in some 100,000 fans.
Curtis says he feels Motor City pride. He unveiled the new trophy for the winner of the two MIS races this summer, a tribute to Old Dtroit and he wants the public's help naming it.
"The connotations to Michigan, the history, the tradition. We would like all of you to submit names for this trophy and if you could tweet it @MISRoger, I would greatly appreciate it. We will unveil the name in August," said Curtis.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pure Michigan 400 will come to the Jackson raceway from August 16-18.
