Barricaded Man Has Police Stand Off for Hours

SUMMIT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) - A Jackson man broke into his ex-wife's house with a gun and tried to hurt her. But police say he's the one who ended up in the hospital.

Sheriff's officials in Jackson say a 42-year-old man is behind bars after he barricaded himself inside his ex-wife's home for four and a half hours Friday morning.

It all happened shortly before 4a.m. at the home in the 3800 block of Westchester Boulevard in Summit Township.

Officials say the man forced his way inside with a gun, then got into a fight with his ex. Officials say the woman and her children were able to get out of the house, but the suspect refused to leave.

Hours later, police went in, but the suspect didn't go willingly. After a struggle, the man was cuffed and taken to the hospital.

Police say he'll likely face numerous charges.
