Gun Violence Prevention Event Held Outside Rogers' Office

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Friday marks the six month anniversary of the devastating shootings in Newton, Connecticut when a gun-man walked into an elementary school and shot to death 20 children and six adults. All across the country, people set up memorials to commemorate the victims and to remind people of gun violence.

The issue of gun control reached all the way to Lansing, where volunteers from Organizing for Action held a gun violence prevention event outside of Mike Rogers' office. They were hoping to encourage Rogers to co-sponsor a bill regarding background checks. It's known as the "King-Thompson Bill."
