Jury Deliberates for Second Suspect in New Years Eve Murder

GRAND LEDGE, Mich. (WLNS) - Jury deliberations are underway in Austin Smith's involuntary manslaughter trial.

The Grand Ledge man is charged in the beating death of Travis Peterson outside a bar in downtown Lansing on New Year's Day. It happened near Brannigan Brother's Bar in 2012.

One witness compared the attack to a pack of wolves attacking Peterson like a piece of meat. He died days later, after spending several days in the hospital in critical condition.

Donald Suttle Junior was also found guilty in late 2012 for Peterson's death.
