Stolen East Lansing Statue Found

The missing East Lansing "Laura" statue, worth $50,000 according to ELPD, has been turned in, according the the City of East Lansing's facebook page.

Someone stole the 30 inch statue of a young girl holding a bird from her perch in downtown East Lansing earlier this week.

Police thought they had a lead when someone told them the bronze sculpture was at the Treehouse North Apartments on Evergreen Avenue in East Lansing. But when police arrived, the sculpture wasn't there.

They now believe someone stole the statue from the apartments.

Police say they believed whoever took it didn't know the statue's value, or that it was stolen.
