Man Injured In Gas Line Explosion Dies

The man who was injured after his truck triggered as gas line explosion has died.

Greg Peacock, a 32-year-old from Clare County, died from his injuries at the University of Michigan Hospital, according to the Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety Department.

Police believe Peacock triggered the explosion at the West Bay well on June 12th. That's near Dorrell and Portage Roads in Leoni Township.

Peacock told officers he hit a natural gas line with his vehicle and got out to try and shut off the valve. The explosion shook homes in the area.

Peacock worked for B & H Trucking, which is based in Mount Pleasant.
